Charlie Parker era idolatrato dai suoi colleghi musicisti e quando si esibì presso il Teatro Apollo nel mese di Agosto del 1950 tre dei suoi ammiratori devoti, Al Porcino, Don Lanphere, e Jimmy Knepper, riuscirono a registrare sei spettacoli completi del grande sassofonista. Tutte queste rare registrazioni sulle quali Parker è affiancato da un’orchestra d’archi sono raccolte in questo cd, così come una versione di “I Cried for You” in cui Parker accompagna Sarah Vaughan e un’altra registrazione presso l’Apollo. Queste tracce completano tutte le registrazioni esistenti di Parker nel Teatro Apollo. Come bonus, sono state aggiunte altre quattro registrazioni realizzate da Porcino, Lanphere e Knepper all'Apollo con Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan, Zoot Sims, e Sarah Vaughan.
